SO! FRANKLIN VS LIDDELL AFTER ALL, EH?!?! Steroids And MOOOORE [awesome] gobbledygook!
by Admin on Apr.13, 2010, under Bloggins'
What it does, ladies and gents? While we prepare the very sexiest MMA Podcast YET I decided to share with you some thoughts and emotions I’m having about the most up-to-date and recent happenin’zzz in the MMA World!. Absolutely overwhelming amount of turmoil happen in the #MMA world! #UFC 112 shenanigans are at the forefront of it all but, what stood out for me was;
1. Fedor Emelianenko
Fedor Emelianenko would love to fight Antonio Silva, if the Werdum negotiations fall
Joined by M-1 Global boss Vadim Finkelstein and the actor Jean Claude Van Damme, Fedor “The Last Emperor” Emelianenko has revealed that his management would approach the Brazilian giant Antonio Silva, if the negotiations with Fabricio Werdum fall through. Fedor Emelianenko was “Guest of Honor” at the M-1 Selection: Eastern Europe event, held at the Aquarium Hotel (Crocus City Hall) in Moscow:
“I have no intentions leaving M-1 Global. We have a very good partnership, so I don’t see any reasons why I should break-up my current deal with that organization. My next opponent will be Fabricio Werdum. We are currently negotiating with his team, but if something goes wrong we will try to reach an agreement with Antonio Silva.”
If Fedor actually fights the 13-2 Antonio Silva, the decision may rairse many eyebrows, especially after contenders like Alistair Overeem and Josh Barnett expressed their desire to square-off against “The Last Emperor”. Antonio Silva is currently ranked #17 Heavyweight by USA Today, way behind fighters like Cheick Kongo and Gabriel Gonzaga. The fight against Fabricio Werdum it is expected to take place on June 26, at HP Pavilion in San Jose, California.
MY PENNY AND A HALF, ARE ‘BOUT DIS!:
“…if Fedor actually fights the 13-2 Antonio Silva, the decision may rairse many eyebrows, especially after contenders like Alistair Overeem and Josh Barnett expressed their desire to square-off against “The Last Emperor”.
I have a huge problem with ONLY telling half of any given story and this is one of those pet peeves that drives me insane. Especially, since there are pretty casual (could also be read as: gullible) fans who will buy this garbage! Barnett who just submitted poor Mighty Mo (guy with about 1/6 of the amount of experience as Josh, who I am a fan off)..in Japan, where DOPING IS NOT EXACTLY TESTED FOR!…AFTER BEING CAUGHT FOR STEROIDS FOR THE THIRD F*&$%NG TIME!? and Overeem who is very “suspect” on the same subject as it is due to his RAPID MARVEL COMIC BOOK LOOKING PHYSIQUE TRANSFORMATION*! and is fighting Rogers who got brutally KO’d by Fedor on the last Strikeforce on CBS card…for whatever reason (read: script) Coker will present us with.
*before

Werdum doesn’t have millions to give to M-1 like they’re the Don King of MMA so they need to take it easy with him. I mean, I thought M-1 should be negotiating with Strikeforce about fights that happen in their promotion. It’s like boxing where both of the boxer’s promoters negotiate with each other to how much money each of them is putting up for the fighter’s “purse”…this is #MMA WTF ??
2. TUF 11 episode 3 is about to air this week on SpikeTV and things are heating UP! But, prior to the start of the show, certain Tweets were made on Twitter and certain speculations aroused on the forums about whether or not it’s going to be Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell vs Tito Ortiz or…Rick Franklin?
FIRST:

great debate was started on an awesome forum I hang out @ anytime I have, even 5 minutes on a computer!
Awesome and Funny comments and opinions!
annnnnnd NOW!

The Ultimate Fighter 11″ coach Chuck Liddell will fight fellow UFC legend Rich Franklin in the main event of UFC 115, after all.
MMAjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps | MMAjunkie.com) first reported earlier this month that Liddell, who originally was slated to fight fellow “TUF 11″ coach Tito Ortiz at the June 12 show at Vancouver’s GM Place, will instead fight replacement coach Franklin.
However, UFC president Dana White initially denied the report and said he instead planned to pit Franklin against Randy Couture. But later, he said fans simply would need to tune into “TUF 11″ to see what happens.
UFC 115 airs on pay-per-view.
Although Franklin will replace Ortiz at some point on the Spike TV reality series, Ortiz remains on the show through the first two episodes. Episode No. 3 airs Wednesday. (To avoid spoilers, MMAjunkie.com will not report the reason of Ortiz’s departure.)
Despite the report and subsequent speculation, Liddell said in a recent media conference call promoting “TUF 11″ that he assumed he would be fighting Ortiz at UFC 115. Instead, it’ll be Franklin.
Liddell (21-7 MMA, 16-6 UFC) fights for the first time since an April 2009 knockout loss to Mauricio “Shogun” Rua that prompted White to announced Liddell’s retirement. The loss was “The Iceman’s” fourth in five fights.
Liddell was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame soon after, but the former UFC light heavyweight champion has maintained since that UFC 97 loss to Rua that he hadn’t closed the door on a possible return to competition.
Franklin (26-5 MMA, 12-4 UFC) returns to the cage after what will be a nine-month layoff. Following a busy 2009 fight schedule in which Franklin headlined three shows (two overseas), the former UFC middleweight champion took time off to recover from various ailments and to pursue business interests.
Most recently, Franklin suffered a first-round knockout loss to Vitor Belfort at UFC 103. He now fights at light heavyweight for the third time in five fights; he also fought in a pair of 195-pound catchweight fights against Belfort and Wanderlei Silva (decision win).
I knew we couldn’t trust Dana White’s Twitter when it comes to this shit, Interwebs PWNd Dana White. I knew it in my gut so I even called out Dana on twitter about this…never got a response…oh, well next time !
but back to the point! And inmho, the whole point of these rumors and speculations was simple, TO GET PEOPLE TO TUNE IN FOR TUF 11. You heard it here first, folks!
another awesome response thread from the guys at MMAnews.com/forums
oh and …
3. AND IN THIS SECTION THIS IS MY VERY HONEST AND STRAIGHT FORWARD OPINION AND I AM HUUGE FAN OF RESPONDING IN KIND, BE AN ASSHOLE AND YOU’LL BE TREATING AS AN ASSHOLE BY A VAST MAJORITY OF FOLKS!
ANDERSON SILVA COULDN’T BE MORE OF A DOUCHE-BAG
Anderson Silva is facing a backlash from fans in his native Brazil after ringside microphones for the UFC 112 broadcast of his fight with Demian Maia apparently picked up Silva taunting his opponent in Portuguese, using terms which are considered very offensive in Brazil.
Portuguese-language MMA forums have been abuzz with discussion over the insults Silva levelled at Maia at points in the fight. The end of the second round is when he is said to have been most offensive, allegedly telling Maia “Bate na minha cara playboy” (“Come on, hit me in the face playboy.”)
(Update: Several Brazilian UFC fans have contacted Fighters Only to say that this comment actually came from Anderson’s corner team, who said to him “Bate na cara desse playboy” (“Come on, hit this playboy’s face”). Anderson’s corner are also alleged to have shouted “Falou demais, agora apanha” (“You talked too much, now get spanked”). Maia claims not to remember exactly what it was Anderson said to him in their fight).
Odd as it sounds, ‘playboy’ is a serious insult in Brazil when levelled at certain targets. The stark class and economic divides in Brazil make for a wide gulf in status between the rich and poor. In Brazilian terms, a playboy is a hedonist rich kid, the product of a pampered upbringing who cares little for the poor and knows nothing of real life.
Anderson is also said to have cried out “Cade o Jiu-Jitsu?” (“Where is your Jiu-Jitsu?”) as Maia failed to get him to the floor, and also told him “Get up off your ass and get hit some more” when Maia dropped to his back looking to play guard.
According to the general tone on the major Brazilian MMA forums right now, Anderson has surprised and upset many of his fans with his comments. Maia told Fighters Only yesterday that Anderson had sworn at him during the fight but declined to go into detail about what was said.
That was a sporting and honourable thing for Maia to do but fans have already picked up on the comments are spreading them around the forums. So far this particular backlash has been confined to Brazilian fans but a poster named Gomes on Portal do Vale Tudo summed the feeling up:
“Wow, the guy went mad. American are usually super socially-conscious with this kind of discrimination, when they discover what he said, heads will fly. This guy has lost all notion of what you can do in a fight. This type of social/personal insult is the equivalent of ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson saying “I’ll fuck until you love me, bitch!”
and my favorite…Silva claimed that somehow Maia insulted and trash-talked Silva when Maia said “My jiujitsu is better than his and I am going to submit him” or something very much along those lines…but Maia also said
UFC.com interview
“What can I say, he’s the best fighter in the world, pound for pound. He’s good in everything that he does, and so far it’s the biggest challenge of my life.”
beyond hysterical in a preposterous way…
MUST WATCH THIS EXTENDED BREAK DOWN!
wow! Demian Maia really is sooo much worse than Tito Ortiz…wow again, man.
